We had our feature exhibition in March, Southern Exposure 2014 with both record participation and prize money. There were over 200 entries and over $11,000 in prize money.
Congratulations to all those who were prize winners and also to all the participants, who made the work of the judges difficult again this year with many worthy pieces.
You can find out all the winners on the HAEG website – www.haeg.org.au. Click on Exhibitions in the menu at top, then click on Southern Exposure 2014 Art Exhibition.
Since we increased the prize money we have attracted more works and good quality works
Also a great big thank you to our committee who spend many hours, without being paid, to give the community a great art show. Without them there would be no Exhibition and no HAEG.
Cygnet is becoming known as a real art hub in Tasmania with many visitors both from around Tassie and the mainland (via MONA) so it is great that we also have our own gallery “The Lovett Gallery”. Our little gallery continues to show members’ work and make regular sales.
A big thank you to Anne LeFevre who is the driving force behind it.
