Painting has inspired Sheryl since her retirement 11 years ago.
A passion was rekindled from a period over 26 years prior to a time when Sheryl painted with a group, learning oil painting. Returning to the work force, in an artistic field kept her busy for many years.
Now in retirement, she has returned to painting and drawing.
Favoured mediums are oils, watercolours and ink washes. Sheryl’s topics vary from landscapes, figures, portraits, animals or anything that inspires her.
Sheryl has painted with a portrait group, a life drawing group, while travelling and with friends.
Her paintings have gone to many places in the world and now may be viewed in the Lovett Gallery, Cygnet and in regional exhibitions.
Recently she retired from the Quoll Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre, Salamanca Square in Hobart where she was a co-op member as well as Secretary and Treasurer at different times.
