2019 Terror Australis Festival Art Awards

HAEG is hosting the Terror Australis Festival Art Awards 2019, with the theme: “Female Bushrangers”.

Ned Kelly. Captain Moonlight. Captain Thunderbolt.
Their names are synonymous with desperation, crime and violence.
But at Terror Australis Readers and Writers Festival we ask, Ned who?
Because Australia had buckjumping, cattle-duffing, escape artist women bushrangers too. Like:
  • Jessie Hickman, the Wild Woman of Wollemi,
  • Mary Ann Bugg, the notorious, craftier companion of Captain Thunderbolt, and
  • Tasmania’s own Mary Cockerill.
Capture the spirit one of Australia’s tenacious, daring female bushrangers to win.

The exhibition is open during normal Lovett Gallery hours 10am – 4pm  Friday/Saturday/Sunday until 10th November 2019.
