Hazel Howie: On The Wild Side

The exhibition 'On The Wild Side' is being run through the Art Society of Tasmania and will feature Hazel Howie's recent paintings of Australian birds.

Hazel sees this exhibition as a fundraising opportunity for Sea Shepherd Australia and will be donating 10% of all profits to this very worthy organisation.

Fittingly, Bob Brown has agreed to officiate at the opening.

Hazel’s aim with this exhibition is to encourage people to re-connect with nature, not just with the paintings but with the sights, sounds and smell of the Australian rainforest.

Hazel has planned a centre display of waterfall, rocks, tree ferns and ferns and realistic resin native animals.

Recorded birdsong will combine with the trickling waterfall to create a peaceful atmosphere where people can come in, out of the summer heat, sit by the mini rainforest, relax and enjoy the artwork.

There will be photographic displays of the painting process of some of the paintings, and greeting cards, post cards and limited edition prints will also be available for purchase.
