Limit of two: 2D entries – size limit 50 cm in the longest dimension, or, a 3D work limited to 1 cubic metre

ART WORK DELIVERY

Your artwork must be delivered to Lovett Gallery (behind the Cygnet Town Hall) on Thursday 14th of August between 1 pm and 5 pm. Deliveries outside these times can only be made by prior arrangement.

ART WORK COLLECTION

Unsold artwork is to be collected between 3 pm – 5 pm on Sunday 24th August.

OFFICIAL OPENING AND AWARD PRESENTATION

The Opening and Awards Presentation will be held on on Friday 15 August commencing at 5:30 pm. All are welcome.

OPENING TIMES

The Exhibition will be open in the Cygnet Lovett Gallery between 11 am to 2 pm during week days,  and, 10 am to 4 pm weekends – for the duration of the Exhibition.

The prizes will be selected by two independent judges

  • 1st Prize – Winner – $500
  • 2nd Prize – $300
  • 3rd Prize – $200

Opening and Awards announcement 5:30 pm, Friday 15th August

  • Max two works per artist. All works to be for sale (20% commission)

Accepted Artworks

The submitted work must be the original work of the artist and not previously exhibited, displayed or offered for sale elsewhere including online. The committee may withdraw artwork found not to comply with our Terms and Conditions.  

All works must be clearly labelled on the bottom right hand corner of the back, or the underside of the artwork with the artist’s name, contact details and title of the artwork.

Reproductions from originals will not be accepted.
All pieces must be dry and stable or will not be accepted.

Prints that are part of an edition produced using traditional print making techniques are accepted but must be numbered accordingly.

Any image made using digital or a digital print process must be labelled as such.

2D work must not exceed 0.5 metres by 0.5 metres; and Triptychs and Diptychs will not be accepted.  A multi part piece of work must be for sale as one piece and cannot be sold as individual items.  3D works need to be limited to 1 cubic metre.

The entry form requires the dimensions of the artwork in centimetres.

2D work must be framed ready for hanging with picture hanging wire.  See the hanging information sheet on website for instructions.  Unsatisfactory framing may result in the artwork not being hung.

3D works should be suitably displayed by the artist.  Display of additional ornaments, flowers, decorations, etc. on furniture entries is not permitted.

Entries requiring power not accepted.

All work must be available for legitimate sale and priced accordingly.

Entries delivered by post or courier must be prearranged with HAEG, and include return packaging, delivery fee, completed delivery labels and details of courier.

Entries with special display requirements should be discussed with HAEG before the exhibition as HAEG may choose not to accept the piece.

Display by HAEG

All entries will be exhibited at the discretion of HAEG.

Entrants must agree to display their work for the duration of the exhibition and to publication or reproduction of their work for promotion.

HAEG and their associates will exercise all reasonable care in handling the works submitted but will not be responsible for loss of and or damage whatsoever to any works while in the custody of the Group.

Judging, Awards and Sales

This is an open competition.

The judges are independent of HAEG and their decision will not be influenced by the organisation. Age of artist will be considered by judges. The judges’ decisions will be final.  No correspondence will be entered into.

A 20% commission will be charged on sales.

The Prizes will be announced at the Official Opening on Friday 15th August 2025 at 5.30pm.

Comments/Complaints

The volunteers who are supervising the exhibition are not able to address your concerns.
